Hey everyone!
This is the belated post for the 24th.
– Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (and remaining Harry Potter books)
– A Game of Thrones (and remaining books in series)
– The Prophecy Con
– The Waking Land
– Red Sister
These five books are all the books I want to read in 2018. I don’t expect to finish all the Harry Potter books or Song of Ice and Fire in the year, but I do plan on at least reading the first in the series.
Reading used to be a very regular activity for me during high school. I could have eight books on the go and finish them within a month. That changed when I started college. Reading became more of a chore and it lost its joy.
After college I focused on work and my novel. Reading was pushed aside because I felt it would eat up valuable time I could use for writing.
Now I’m realizing how vital it is to read regularly when you’re a writer. Reading is the greatest tool you can use when you’re a writer. It’s the useful and entertaining example you need when trying to improve your own writing.
Without realizing it you learn from the book you’re reading and the author who wrote it. I want to relive the joy of reading regularly and learn from it.
Thank you for reading,
– Lalia LaRose
